Tara Donovan grew up in Chandler, AZ where she began acting at the age of 7. Throughout the formative years, Tara kept busy by being involved in almost everything she could. Highlights include traveling to Australia to compete in a summer volleyball tournament; receiving varsity letters for both Volleyball and Track & Field; performing in school productions; directing a one-act for her senior project; and graduating with highest honors. At age 18, she moved to San Diego to attend San Diego State University. In the summer of 2004, Tara embarked on an adventure that changed her career and outlook as an actor. While attending the British American Dramatic Academy at Oxford, England, Tara toned her craft as well as learned what it takes to be in this business from industry greats such as Alan Rickman, Fiona Shaw, and Brian Cox. Upon returning to San Diego, Tara began auditioning for theatre outside of school. Her first professional role was with the Poor Players and in less than a year she worked at several different theatres around San Diego. In December of 2005, Tara received her B.A. in Theatre/Performance and Political Science. Having earned a dual degree, traveled the world, and studied abroad, Tara moved to Los Angeles in March of 2006. Since being in Los Angeles, Tara has starred in several film and theatre productions as well as producing her first short film entitled The Thing in the Corner. Thing has screened at several film festivals all over the world and continues to earn rave reviews at On The Lot's website.
